Bernat Mir de Simón is a Product Manager at Werfen. His main research focusses in the implementation of molecular techniques for the diagnosis and management of sexually transmitted infections. He studied Chemical Engineering at the Ramón Llull University and got his PhD from the Autonomous University of Barcelona in Medicine. In 2013 he joined the group of Prof. Ramón Álvarez at Rovira i Virgili University and codeveloped a medical device for the fast diagnosis of Sepsis. He obtained deep scientific background in nanobiotechnology, microfluidics, and optical Sensors. In 2019 he was awarded the Innovadors 2019 Prize from the Generalitat de Catalunya. He is a co-inventor in four patents and main author or co-author of scientific articles in high impact .
